Contraband Search Tool Kits are made for law enforcement, military and prisons.
The developer (Lanny M. Bergeron) of the search tool kit backpack is considered an expert in locating traps (compartments) or natural voids used to smuggle illegal contraband. During years of experience, he has tested and used numerous tools to assist in helping to search and dismantle vehicles/commercial motor vehicles on the roadside during a traffic stop. He noticed departments were spending thousands of dollars on high tech equipment. This equipment had benefits but was not always conducive to all levels of searches. This equipment used during a roadside search normally broke within a year or two. Just to replace a battery would cause you hundreds of dollars. Vendors would promise you the world but if the equipment broke the vendor would say its user misuse. How many times have you heard that excuse? This would cause departments extra expenses in repairing or replacing broken equipment. Another issue he noticed was departments normally would buy tools needed for interdiction once a year. After a few years of being issued so many tools in so many cases, your trunk was filled to capacity causing most officers leaving vital equipment at home.
In 1997, while searching a commercial motor vehicle he dropped his tool box, which was plastic, between some pallets. The tool box broke and all the tools scattered on the trailers floor. He was only able to recover half of his tools. This is the beginning of his vision. He envisioned one tool kit that was all-in-one, secure, easy to carry and would not break if dropped. He began to research tools needed for searching vehicles by consulting top interdiction officer throughout the country.
Finally in 2012, he has assembled a backpack of tools that are needed too properly search vehicles/commercial motor vehicles. These kits are utilized by narcotics agents for searching homes/businesses.
